This work is part of a series of 365 unstretched canvas sheets, best hung in pairs or grid format. It can be clipped to the wall for a contemporary look with stainless steel clips (included), or else they can be framed. Their size is easily adaptable for ready made frames for ease. The series is about the fragility and strength of the body and its ability to heal. Each piece begins with a photograph of the body, to express the idea when facing our mortality, we find life and that out of darkness comes light.

I have been a working artist for over 20 years. After growing up outside of Chicago, I moved to New York, where I received my master's of art from the prestigious program through NYU and the International Center of Photography. When I returned to Chicago, I continued to work on my art, writing and curating all while raising 4 kids. My work focuses on the effects of genetics, the mother/daughter relationships, and the body. I explore themes of cancer as a metaphor in my own work as well as the biennial exhibit I curate, Voices & Visions, Standing on the Bridge Between Health and Disease. The mind, body and spirit connections and separations echo the theme in art that out of darkness comes light.
