Scena #1 Collage

The work was inspired by the surrealists, particularly the likes of Salvador Dalí and René Magritte, who often played with duplication and the fluidity of time in their paintings. I'm also drawn to the abstract expressionists for their vibrant use of color and texture, which I've incorporated into the background to evoke emotions and movement. I hope viewers will feel a sense of curiosity and wonder, perhaps even a touch of nostalgia due to the vintage elements. I want them to question the narrative behind the twin figures and the flying machines, to imagine their own story, and to reflect on the passage of time and the nature of dreams versus reality. I chose mixed media to bring together the sharpness of the figures with the wild, abstract background, creating a contrast that is both visually and conceptually striking. The subject matter of airships harks back to an era of discovery and adventure, which contrasts with the modern technique of abstract painting, thus marrying the old with the new. The style is intended to juxtapose the ordered with the chaotic, the real with the imagined, to create a piece that is not just seen, but experienced.
