What The Dog Sees, is a complex moment captured and recreated in paper. Each piece is an effort to extract a cross-section of tiny experiences and show their wonder. To illustrate the moments we all share. The collage 'What The Dog Sees' is 1 of 16, 5x7 works. They are a fractured series of vignettes. They start as geometric patterns made up of colored paper and Inks. Then shapes and patterns are layered. Smaller shapes, hands, heads, jaws, teeth, hair, dogs and beards are placed in the scene and the stage is set. Pieces embellishes and layered till the piece is done. All this happens on a block of birch wood. The materials are simple and I enjoy the process of building them up to create a narrative with depth and atmosphere.
