Contact us.Benjamin De Glimme is an artist with a singular path who constantly pushes the limits of creation. Born on 4 January 1993 in Belgium, Benjamin is an entrepreneur (company number/VAT: BE1035175783), poet, painter, draftsman and engraver.
From a very young age, he made art his preferred mode of expression, abandoning himself body and soul to drawing, painting and poetic writing. He already has more than a hundred poems, witnesses of his sensitivity and his tireless quest for inner exploration.
In 2015, he decided to put poetry aside to devote himself fully to the visual arts, a choice that will mark a decisive turning point in his career. Working in secret, in the intimacy of his studio-room, he creates instinctively and spontaneously. Each work is for him a unique experience that requires a moment of reflection after its completion, a pause to integrate the depth of what he has expressed.
In July 2016, Benjamin initiates a revolutionary artistic movement that he calls Le Tournillisme. This current advocates for total freedom in the creative act, a rejection of any academic and artistic influence. For the artists of Tournillisme, autodidacticism is essential. This movement invites creators to break free from all conventions, to favor an instinctive approach and to reinvent the meaning of each work by giving it a new perspective, literally.
Indeed, once completed, each piece is tilted in different directions until revealing another meaning, another dimension that strengthens the bond between the artist and his audience.
This process, unique and audacious, allows Benjamin’s works to transcend the frontiers of perception. A painting designed horizontally can come to life vertically, opening doors towards parallel universes, new meanings. This liberating technique allows him to embrace limitless creativity, far from the constraints of conformism.
Benjamin’s art oscillates between abstraction and figuration. He uses knives to paint in the traditional way, but also a "mystery tool" that allows him to create abstract works with impressive speed and precision. In parallel, he explores digital art by working with a stylus on a tablet, creating digital figurative works that he then transposes onto canvas.
He has been creating essentially animal-based digital paintings since 2022.
