About the Artist
Bernd Vogel
*1969, a son, two cats. lives in cologne
Bernd Vogel is a photographer, sculptor, painter, and digital artist who trained with Jürgen Klauke at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and Rolf Lieberknecht. His abstract-figurative, amateurish technique deliberately plays with the contrast between unprofessionalism, playfulness, and traditional forms. In his works, he addresses the aesthetics of absence and deliberately leads the viewer down the wrong track with an open-ended approach. His art reveals a tongue-in-cheek distrust of logic and evokes a liberating lightness that encourages the viewer to question apparent certainties.
