Degas Tribute: A Woman's Hair Drawing

Degas explored the beauty of the female nude countless times through both pencil and charcoal drawings and with paint. I decided to dive into one painting of a woman combing her hair - not to copy with paint, but to find the bones of the painting with charcoal. Then I enhanced the drawing digitally, spreading a hundred points of very soft pastel colors into a warm sepia base. What emerged is lovely, simple and subtly complex. It remains unsigned because, even though it's unique, its roots are in Degas.
