About The Artwork
During a boat tour in Norway, I saw a beautifully dressed toddler in her pram. Her parents' tender attitude towards her, whilst feeding her, got my attention. She was not interested in establishing eye to eye contact with them. She appeared very comfortable in her ‘own world’, looking at the distance. Her proud parents, let her be. With their permission, I took a couple of pictures. Once at home, I had the urge to draw her. Using one of the pictures, oil-based inks, rollers, and printmaking paper, I created this monoprint. I chose this medium because it allowed me to be quick and spontaneous. This work was inspired by tenderness, love and acceptance.
