This series of drawing has started from a class, ‘Physics 101 for artists (not-so-art-related-phyics)’ where I first encountered the world of quanta. It was fascinating because my art is primarily inspired by ‘space’ where we are living in, but physics is talking about ‘space’ where we cannot see but definitely exists and forms the dimensions we live in. I wanted to express this smallest and most complicated world with simplest medium and most familiar material of all, pencil and paper.

Recently moved to Castlemaine, Yuna Chun is currently exploring how one's living experience evolves in response to their environment. Her work, painted with acrylic on wood panels, depicts the forms of urban structures combined with vibrant colors, creating hard-edge geometric patterns. Since moving to regional Australia from Metropolitan Korea, Chun has discovered her curiosity in Australian flora and fauna, inspiring her to experiment with a new artistic style. Born in Seoul, Yuna Chun earned her BFA from RMIT University in 2011. Following nine years in Australia, she initiated her artistic journey in Seoul and has been working between Korea and Australia.
