About The Artwork
This drawing belongs to a series of watercolors on paper representing ENCOUNTERS between women and animals in wilderness. The image came to my mind thinking about how from an environmental point of view (which is mine after all) we tend to always think of nature as good. But Nature takes its course - if we let it - and doesn't care about us humans. The leopard eats the gazelle after having laboriously dragged it up a tree to protect it from attacks by hyenas. To us and to the young girl - whom I imagined, coming from a photographic safari, in an unlikely situation - it seems ferocity but it is simply natural life.

I was born in Turin, earned my degree in humanities in Pisa, and live in Florence. Today, I devote most of my energies to making art, maintaining, however, continuity with my work in publishing, which I have been doing for a long time for publishing houses in Italy and abroad (France, Japan, Greece, Spain and Switzerland). In recent years – with a growing interest, on one hand, in what for me were new techniques of expression and, on the other, in a more adult usership of my work – I began to devote myself to painting and sculpture.
