About The Artwork
My current work is about the destruction and recycling of life and culture. What came before, being attacked by what comes after. Attempts at erasure lead to the old being imprinted on the new. Its DNA remains and is carried on in the successor. Most of the current paintings are reworkings of a project I did around 2014-15. The paintings I considered complete until I deciding to radically change, if not destroy them altogether. Elements of the past work remain. Whether though parts of the original painting remaining, the composition enduring or just the name of the work.
