The chicken is an example of illusion where painting can represent 3D form while being a 2D object. Going for simple shapes and 'honest' painting i.e. avoiding illusionistic temptations I chose to highlight this by giving this work its title. The chicken looks fat but is, in fact, as thin as the board its painted on. A strong image like this would make a statement on any wall. Signs and simple shapes.
