Mixed media (oil, sand, raw pigments, wax) and embroidery collage on four shaped canvases, 2022. This captivating artwork comprises four hand crafted interconnected canvases that together form a harmonious circle, reminiscent of an origami shape. The circular shape of the artwork symbolizes the absence of a distinct beginning or end, representing the continuous cycles of nature and existence. This concept serves as a reminder of life's impermanence, where every individual, experience, or event is interconnected within an unbroken circle of existence. Diana employs a diverse range of techniques and materials in this artwork. Raw pigments, layered textures of oil paint and sand, and even embroidery collages are skilfully combined to breathe life into the piece. The rich interplay of colours, textures, and materials adds depth and dimension to the work, creating a visual experience that deeply resonates with the viewer. 'Back to My Roots / Circle of Life' is a profound and visually stunning representation of life's cyclical and interconnected nature, which invites us to cherish a simpler and more authentic way of life, and contemplate the beauty and impermanence of our journey.
