About The Artwork

My love for the idealized feminine aesthetic is apparent, I also incorporate spiritual and symbolic elements into this piece and similar works. Using a tight, symmetrical focus on some of the more alluring elements of our existence: Flora and the female form. Flowers, like humans and other living things evoke fragility and the evanescence of life. Flowers are very similar to woman symbolically; both are vessels of new life, of renewal, of continuous change. Both are also justly associated with heaven or paradise. My use of the lotus flower is significant as a symbol for life and in another sense, human potential. Sprouting from the mud and slime with its stem like an umbilical cord attaching man to its origins, it grows through the dark primordial water, then blooms in the sun, enlightened. As it is with the human condition, we are all somewhere in between two worlds: muck and the surface, darkness and light, ignorance and enlightenment. Note: Painting is signed Evans which is my actual last name. This work was painted and signed before I started using my middle name Lowail as my artist moniker.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Chris LoWail honed his talents over years of figurative drawing and painting. He has exhibited in galleries all over the United States, and overseas as well. He utilizes techniques pioneered by the old masters to create art that is both mysterious and beautiful. Rich in symbols drawn from the past and cultural references from the near present. He incorporates these signs into his works to draw the viewer closer into his nearly opaque visions and restless psyche. All the while shedding light on the embodiment of spirits and deities, and illuminating more abstract qualities like the ubiquitous interaction of life and death, and the enigmatic nature of existence.
