About The Artwork
My cousin Linda pictured here was my teen idol. At 17 she was tall and slim with long dark hair and wore hip hugger bell bottoms and turned every man’s head. But more importantly, she was, and still is, ‘cool’. She does an expression simultaneously draws you in and blows you off. I decided to paint this image because I felt she captured a quintessential tween quality… like maybe you were caught looking at her in a not quite right way. (She would like me to point out, that “the bird” was not in the image I painted from, that was artistic license.)
