"Cloud Berry Ripples" is inspired by my time as an artist-in-residence at an ice cream shop on the ocean! It was a small, historic town filled with tourists and I spent my Saturdays painting on my portable easel in the shop, talking to a LOT of people and fighting the urge to eat my weight in homemade waffle cones and ice-cream! At the end of the residence I debuted a whole series of ice-cream inspired, ocean seascapes for a special show that was paired with a custom ice-cream flavour called Clouds and Cream! (It was delicious!) "Cloud Berry Ripples" was featured: - Petite Riviere Vinyard solo show (Sept 2019), - Making Waves solo exhibition at DesBrisay Museum Gallery in Bridgewater (2019) - Clouds and Cream show at Get the Scoop in Mahone Bay, NS (2018) Other paintings in the series: "Dreamsicle Drizzle", "Breezy Blueberry Truffle", "Moon Misty Bay", "Vanilla Parfait Day", "Sorbet Sunrise", and "Winds Whip Carmel Curl"

Welcome to my World of Women and Waves! Ready to dive into a world of seascapes and real women enjoying whatever they damn well please? I'm an oil painter who loves color and movement and all things beachy! I'm a feminist with 3 awesome daughters, 2 chaotic pets, and 1 talented, author husband. I drink a ton of black coffee, and walk a bunch of dogs to clear my head. I find myself thinking "Whattheeverlovin'fuck?" a lot, sooo...learning to meditate, keeping the gratitude journal, living with "progress not perfection" as a motto in my studio! My art concerns: I was raised in a small village at the edge of a fierce sea and to me, sweeping ocean horizons speak of escape, change, and freedom. My figurative and portrait work tend to invoke similar themes through feminism, climate, and immigration. In all of my work I am constantly looking to capture the energy, movement, and intensity of our ever-shifting world and the women in it!
