About The Artwork

This art piece was created especially for an art exhibition "Dance of the Elements" by the artist Maria Obraztsova Z. in the most special and central place in The Hague - "KV 2, Anna Vastgoed cultuur". As you traverse the gallery space, allow the elements to guide you through a sensory journey. Engage with the art, not merely as a spectator, but as a participant in the rhythmic ballet of creation and expression. The "Dance of the Elements" beckons you to immerse yourself in the harmonious interplay of nature and artistic ingenuity. Join us in celebrating the universal dance that transcends boundaries — an elemental symphony composed in strokes, colors, and textures. Together, let us revel in the perpetual motion of creativity, where the artist becomes the choreographer of existence, orchestrating the eternal dance of life's essential elements. In the ethereal realm of "Dance of Air and Water," the delicate breeze waltzes with the flowing currents. Light and fluid strokes capture the ephemeral beauty of air as it swirls and mingles with the serene depths of water. This piece invites you to witness the ballet of weightlessness, a poetic encounter between the unseen forces that shape our world.

Maria was born in Estonia (Narva). She started drawing and painting at a Children's Art school when she was 11 years old. And in the year 2000, Maria moved to Spain (Madrid) and continued her artistic education until 2005. From 2002 to the present, the artist has participated in collective exhibitions and organized individual exhibitions in countries such as Spain, Belgium, and The Netherlands. - Member of the Association of artists in the Netherlands. For Maria, art is food for the soul and it is the divine essence that we all have and that is expressed through art. It is cyclical: the longer we are in contact with beauty and harmony, the greater and more precious our Essence will become. Interview for Art magazine 123art.net https://123art.net/?s=Maria+Obraztsova+Z MarOZ: I would like to start my story by reciting the words of Leonardo Da Vinci: “Painting is poetry that you see, and poetry is a painting that you hear.” - What was your route to becoming an artist? MarOZ: From a very young age I knew how to draw very well, I think this ability was due to my mother’s genes. My mother was an authentic artist, she handled many different techniques, such as crafts, making clothes, painting, making papier mache, … When I was 11 years old, my mother enrolled me in a children’s art academy at the suggestion of my art teacher at school, that’s when I started to study drawing and painting academically. Years later I continued my studies at a private art school in Madrid for five years. From 2002 until today I have organized my personal exhibitions and I have participated in group exhibitions in countries such as Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. - What is your chosen medium and what are your techniques? MarOZ: At the art school in Spain I began to study portrait techniques. At first they were acrylic portraits, then I moved on to oil techniques and later to oil with white spirit, all in figurative technique. A little later I started to paint landscapes and for this I used abstract and figurative techniques using different textures such as gesso and natural materials that I found on my walks on the beach or in parks. - Tell us a bit about your process and what environment you like to work in? MarOZ: The process of the birth of a painting is mystical. It is something like gestating a baby. At first a feeling permeates your being.
