ABOUT THE ARTWORK
What started out as a sketch, grew on me, the subject is the pet dog of the family who have adopted Monkid as a child of their own. In the picture I used as reference Monkid was holding the dogs lead, and something in the expression on the dogs face, just said it all. Painted on a piece of found scrap MDF there is a hanging wire and blocks to hold the painting flat to the wall. I like the energy in this portrait, made quite fast and the drips add to the feeling I think.

I make work about the division, opposition and collusion between animals and humans. Oil painting, drawing, assemblage, collage and the re-use of materials and objects are central to my work.
