About The Artwork

This picture was painted in Italy on Lake Como. This picturesque painting immerses us in a world of aquatic symphony, where fiery orange-red water lilies and vibrant golden fish effortlessly glide in the green-black depths of the lake. The painting exudes an atmosphere of tranquility and joy, prompting us to marvel at the beauty and abundance of nature. Unveiling the mysteries of the aquatic element, it reminds us of the endless flow of life, its unpredictability, and grandeur. This artwork invites us to delve into a realm of magic and harmony, where every stroke tells its own tale of magnificence. The golden fish symbolizes the auspiciousness of all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously, just as fish swim freely without fear through water. In Buddhism, the golden fishes symbolize happiness, as they have complete freedom in water. They represent fertility and abundance as they multiply very rapidly. Fish often swim in pairs, and in China they represented conjugal unity and fidelity, where a pair of fishes would often be given as a wedding present.
