Sophia's subjects are conjured from imagination, memory figures and everyday experience. She adds scenes from popular culture. Placing her subjects in relaxing environments to understand the complexities of human experience in society, examining the impact of Mental health and using art as a form of healing. Sophia's practice documents the human connection between joy, hope and space, overlaying the past with the present through collected shared memory. Sophia's work mirrors reality with a dialogue of emotional connection that engages the viewers in their own interpretations. Drawing inspiration from African arts, Art history, old master works, contemporary arts, fashion, politics and colours. Sophia is a British painter whose artworks are held in numerous private collections across various continents. Her work has been featured in significant exhibitions both locally and internationally, as well as in notable art fairs such as the Affordable Art Fair in London, the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in Marrakech, and The Other Art Fair.
