About The Artwork

My territory is by the window, using a stencil and spray paint to express reflections of memory. At night I remember joyful times from childhood, my brush is moved by thoughts and feelings, affected by the materiality of the painting, and trying to catch the feeling of mystery with images which are amorphous and partly hidden. The picture is reminiscent of the painting, Hide and Seek, 1942, by Pavel Tchelitchew, a Russian born artist, taking his idea of using ground coffee beans with paint to soften the texture. An intrigue is added by the written text that comes through from the use of an old painted canvas. Has it become an ‘Alice and Wonderland’?
