About The Artwork
This tender family scene was captured in Copenhagen, unbeknownst to the grandfather and his grandchildren. The light and their hug was too beautiful not to take pictures of in the hope of developing their expression of family love into a painting. The oil painting is on a unique self-prepared cotton with a painterly texture and wooden stretchers. I hope that you have had the chance to feel a love like this at some point in your life. This is part of a series called How It Feels To Be Alive which focuses on emphasising all that we share as a species.
