About The Artwork
What/who inspired the work? -The work was inspired by the combination of the expressionist, pointillist and impressionist paint strokes. What do I hope its viewers will feel/think? - A sense of swirling wonder of a common subject, that is depicted in way that hopefully makes the viewer remember it well. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? -In my experiments with artistic styles, to develop my own which I call Integralism( one that fuses 3 styles/techniques/subjects as one), I was reminded of french painter Paul Cezanne, his painterly experiments and his quote: "I want to astonish Paris with an apple." This apple is part tribute, invention and part self expression.
