About The Artwork

'Journey to the Unknown' 2021 original painting 63" (W) x 55.1" (H). As your eyes roam across the canvas, they are invited to surrender to the unknown, embracing the mystery and magic that lies beyond the confines of the familiar. "Journey to the Unknown" is not merely a painting - it is an invitation to embark on a voyage of discovery, where the boundaries of imagination are limitless and the possibilities are endless. The world where every brush stroke represents a choice made by humanity - a decision that shaped the course of history. Threads of compassion and kindness intertwining with threads of greed and cruelty, each choice leading to divergent paths of prosperity or ruin. But amidst the chaos and turmoil, you can also glimpse moments of hope and redemption - threads of courage, sacrifice, and unity that illuminated the darkness and paved the way for a brighter future. One probably couldn't help but reflect on their own choices and actions, both past and present. One may realise that, like the brush strokes in the painting, every decision we made had the power to shape the world around us - to influence the course of our story in ways both profound and lasting.

I was born in Vilnius, Lithuania. After graduating with a degree in graphic design from Vilnius Building and Design College in 2001 I moved to Dublin in 2002 where I continue to live and work within a creative environment. Capturing the soul’s whispers in every stroke: My art transcends geographical boundaries, weaving a universal narrative that resonates with the human experience. Through the lens of my dual cultural identity, I invite you to explore the artistry that emerges at the contemporary expression. The main area of artistic expression for me has always been facial expressions starting with pencil monochromic drawings at the early stages of my practice developing into the colour figurative abstract paintings. My style is strongly influenced by my passion for human inside out beauty. My passion for drawing faces developed in teenage years when I attended academic drawing classes. I was mesmerised by the power of dramatic graphite pencil lines reflecting an amazing expression of our individual personalities and characters. We are so similar but so different and unique, our face is a mirror of our soul. Large Format Canvases: The canvas became a playground for exploration, a space where the grand scale allows for an immersive experience. Each large format painting is an invitation to step into a world where every detail carries significance. Collect a Piece: Discover the emotion, the story, and the essence captured in each stroke. Join me on this artistic journey, and together, let's transcend boundaries through the language of art. Thank you, Ruth
