Lychee Cola Painting

Synesthesia feels like a super power, living life with my senses free and fluid, being able to taste and smell colors is like magic. When I tell people about my synesthesia, they can’t imagine being able to taste the colors of their favorite drink or candy, but for me its everyday reality. I had been struggling with the colors on this canvas for weeks. The texture had come out naturally but the colors just wouldn’t make sense, and I kept repainting it over in white and with every layer, some new texture came out. I was out with a friend, and I took a sip from her cup. It was a sparky lychee cola, ice cold and full of fizz and my mind was blown by all the colors that id just experienced in a sip. When I sat down with this canvas again later, it instantly made sense. The bursting fizz.. It was all lychee cola.
