This abstract oil painting is inspired by nature and its many different forms and colours. Here, the interaction between the calmness of the soft background and the activity of the blue, spontaneous movements remind of the different forces in nature. The so created balance gives the painting its meaning and beauty. The painting is made by sponge and brush to create the smoothness and by palette knife for the movements and the fine paint splashes at the end. It is an abstract landscape in a more unconventional way and of course everybody sees it differently. And that’s what abstract works implies: the viewer engages his imagination looking at the painting. For me, the painting shows the ways water finds in nature or the different ways we can find to live our life.

Sabine Kay is an abstract artist, born 1964 in Hamburg, Germany, and now living in Luxembourg. She has always had a passion for art, but rediscovered this only some years ago. And now, with the kids getting older, she is moving into a new phase of her life: an art-life. In the beginning she worked realistic, but over the years she learned that in abstract art she could better express herself. While painting she is building the oil colours layer upon layer with a colour palette ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating. Her inspiration comes from nature itself or photographs. Painting means to her to create something by herself that reflects her impression of nature and its many and always changing Colours.
