Hannah Anastasi is an Animator & Multimedia Artist residing in the South West of the UK. When she's not hand-crafting short films, Hannah explores the therapeutic effects of Art on both herself, and others, through the medium of painting: "My Art relies heavily on achromatic imagery: Using such a rigid method allows me to focus on the line, shape and composition of my work, saving colour for emphasis. Using Automated Drawing, I plan my compositions by taking a pencil and allowing my hand to move freely across the paper. Once completed, I transform my original sketches into fragmented, abstract paintings, completed with the use of heavy, acrylic paint. I'm influenced by the Automatism Art moment of the early 20th century, as well as my own childhood experiences playing early 3D video-games in the 90's: a time in which simple, polygonal forms were used to bring worlds and characters to life and we were left to interpret the imagery personally, to fill in the blanks of details that were missing."
