ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“She is the rise and fall of the oceans and the light on the darkest of nights. Look upon her divinity and surrender your soul to the wonder of her, for tomorrow is a brand new day.“ - Selene, ATMR Name The name Selene originated in Greece and translates as Moon which in Greek and Roman religion, was once personified as a Goddess. Totems The crescent moon most significantly represents motherhood and fertility. It can also be symbolic of growth, creativity, and manifestation. Crescent moons are usually related to new phases in life, new chapters, a new beginning, changing seasons, ebb and tide (and related inundations as harbingers of fertility), and the feminine menstrual cycle. Green represents rebirth and renewal and is also a symbol of balance, growth, learning and harmony. Green is also the color of the Heart chakra, known as Anahata, linking the heart, lungs, circulatory system, and cardiac plexus, bridging the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds allowing a person to love more, empathise, and feel compassion. Inspiration and Work in Progress Selene and I didn't get off to a very good start. About two-thirds of the way through I actually wiped the slate clean and began her again. The colours, they just weren't quite right, and I was rather unhappy I had decided not to mount the canvas with calico. But I did love love love her outline and intention, and I just knew in my heart green was the right colour... and so it was settled: She wasn't to be shelved - a re-do was definitely in order. And I am thrilled to pieces I had made that decision. From there on in, everything flowed smoothly and I just knew I was on the right track. Selene has a true softness about her. She is gentle and loving and simply beautiful. I am over the moon! ;) About the series (yet to be named): I really like to keep smaller works simple and striking, not overindulged with mixed media and texture. My desire is to make an explosive statement of love, light and guidance with this body of work and bring some of that luxurious, bold, fierce colour and contrast back into my art, which was once a dominant signature of my style.dominant signature of my style. SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My name is Tanya Marie Reeves and I am a visual artist from Broken Hill, NSW Australia. I am a self-taught painter with over 20 years’ experience, working with both acrylics and textile applique. With beauty and passion, I portray empowered women upon the canvas by modern design likened to a combination of pop art, art deco, cubism, symbolism and art nouveau. I love to choreograph saturated block colour, simple lines, geometry and meticulous precision along with intricate patterns, textures and conceptual connotations. I am influenced by strong, empowered women whom are also vulnerable in-kind to be passionate, sensual and openhearted; I am influenced by colour and beauty, by divinity and magic, and by the spirited feminine connection with nature, the earth, and the universe. I am encouraged by my own growth from many of life’s tough lessons and mental health instabilities, and I am now driven to help other women open their hearts and minds, and ignite their desires to all of the possibilities within themselves.
