About The Artwork
Life's surprise difficulties inspired this work such as the loss of loved ones, job layoffs, marital issues, and the like. I hope people will view this work and see that despite life's challenges, they can still be successful with the help of the Lord. The rock the woman sits on represents Jesus, the Rock of Ages, who helps us in times of trouble, if we believe. I chose acrylic because it is a very fun medium to work with offering great vibrant colors and textures. The subject matter was chosen because often times, black women in particular, must suffer great pains in silence. This is a great work of art!
