About The Artwork
Teta is an anagram for Tate. TETA painting, as part of the series of painting I am currently working on, is about re-writing the cultural landscape making interventions on magazine covers and other items which are part of mass-media. In this case, the painting is about how the cover of the autumn issue of the TATE magazine would look if it featured articles on the Brazilian anthropophagic manifesto, the sovereignty of American plants and a dead corpse by Latin poets. Also, the iconic Catherine Deneuve features the original tate magazine cover as a homage to surrealism and the film belle du jour, by director Luis Buñuel.

Gabriel Glaiman, Buenos Aires, 1969 Since 1998, he has worked as an artist and as a teacher at the University of Buenos Aires, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. In 2001, he was awarded the "Fondo Nacional de las Artes - The British Council 2001" scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, graduating as a Master of Fine Arts (MA Fine Art) from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London in October 2002. Currently, he teaches at the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of Avellaneda and works in visual arts in Buenos Aires.
