About The Artwork
This is a study for the head of Adam from the creation story of Genesis. I have drawn and painted it many times, I just keep coming back to it. Adam is the first man in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. I chose watercolor because of its delicacy and ability to depict fragility. The Hebrew word sh'ma or "hear" is included. The Sh'ma prayer is a statement of unity , and to me something that every person could learn from. We all come from the same place, and we are all walking to the same place, in the end.
