About The Artwork

The various memories I have experienced in life suddenly come to mind and lead us to a contemplative state. I aim to explore the gaps in such landscapes and evoke diverse memories of nature. The 'sculpture of reminiscence' floating inside and outside the frame freely drifts on the canvas like waves swayed by an invisible wind. Shapes like branches and leaves that appear faintly blend with abstract forms imbued with the colors of nature, evoking the shapes of plants reflected in the water. I constantly explore and reinterpret the natural elements that symbolize the flowing time, such as waves, wind, and plants, in an abstract manner, filling the canvas with memories of past experiences in nature. Alternatively, I depict the process of visualizing everyday landscapes into abstract expressions, bringing the memories of nature into actual or artificially created architectural spaces to evoke individual inner memories. The feelings of anxiety and difficulty in communication that I experienced while growing up and moving to different countries are reflected in my artwork, through the comfort and stability I found in nature. The landscapes I depict, seeking the gaps in space, serve as various channels that I encountered through my international experiences, acting as a bridge between my inner self and the external world. I aim to evoke memories and imagination of nature in viewers through brushstrokes that float, reflecting the rhythm and colors experienced in natural landscapes from a distant perspective. By observing landscapes from a distant vantage point, I want to invoke a sense of connection to nature and evoke the viewers' own memories and visualizations of nature.
