About The Artwork
This is a painting that was inspired by a visit to Malta. There was a low wall and strips of sea and sky creating an abstracted landscape. The model was a friend who posed for me in Trafalgar Square although the emergent image was a generic reflection of solitude and melancholy. The asymmetry and elongation are a feature of my work.
