Together Painting

Slovak visual artist, born in Bratislava, where she has spent the majority of her life and where she lives and creates also at present, after a decade spent in Belgium and Greece. Travelling around the globe on business and privately, she finds inspiration in the hectic, busy life of large cities, but also in the romantic corners of the authentic environment of small towns and villages "behind God's back", which provide enough space not only for undisturbed communication with the surrounding world, but also with herself. Parisian reminiscences alternate in her work with the beauty of the Myjava mountains or sunny Provençal villages. In part of her work, she allows herself to be carried away by complete freedom without any obvious connection with reality. The layers are piled one on top of the other and in the process of creation it is usually not clear which one will eventually gain dominance. In part of artworks, it is possible to observe a relatively clear inclination towards tachism and lyric abstraction. “Maria is indeed an interesting artist who talks about her life through her paintings. It is as if she anchored her handwriting in the abstract expression, which can surprise with every painting, above all with the composition. Figurative, predominantly female portraits give the faces a different character through a robust color line of different colors and shapes. They are an interesting meeting. Maria knows how to surprise. A different expression on the visual surface, which is characterized by the author's desire for experiment and change.
