Travelling Painting

I studied Textile design.Then spent 30 years as a propmaster/props fabricator in the Cape Town film industry where I was fortunate enough to work on some fantastic productions such as Tomb Raider, Escape Room, Eye in the sky and Chappie. During this period I gained experience in many disciplines ie. 3D design, 3D printing, sculpting, molding, casting, leatherwork, paint techniques and illustration. I found creative expression in many formats, often having to marry form and function to solve complex briefs. During treatment and recovery from cancer, I reflected on spirituality and ultimately, aiming to define my meaning and purpose in life. This journey, and the knowledge that I needed a change of pace, brought me to expressing my newly found insights through painting. I am interested in how we string our life’s story together through memories. Moments that had an impact on us. Sometimes these seemingly insignificant moments can have a profound impact on the outcome of our lives. Life’s experience is composed of moments, some of which we do don’t even notice. By capturing such moments and using bold and happy colors and brave brush strokes I hope to invoke a feeling of joy and nostalgia in my audience. Gifting them with a moment to pause and reflect on the simple joys of life.
