About The Artwork
Water Therapy – by Alanah Jarvis This painting pays tribute to and acknowledges the Australia’s First People throughout Australia and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. Cold water therapy, hydrotherapy, Japanese water therapy, not only does water have a major affect on our minds, it is essential for survival. Water heals, hydrates and hypnotises us with large oceans and the rain purifies the air we breathe. I hope to bring a sense of mindfulness that comes with being around water to your space with this framed oil painting. Rain is so many things to different people, it has spiritual meaning, can be the ideal excuse to wrap yourself in a blanket with a mug of your favourite drink, or for my grandmother, it was a time to get into the garden. It can be an inconvenience or something to dance in. Rain can be devastating or something to celebrate and will always play an essential role in our existence which is simply fascinating. I love watching rain hit the water’s silky-smooth water surface.
