About The Artwork

This piece is part of my own deepening into portrait work and studies, especially of people and figures who have been influential in my own life and studies. This piece began very organically, with the central awe-struck figure only later becoming a young likeness of the inventor and educator Wilhelm Reich. It is layered with several blended layers of oil paint pens. Only later did some friends alert me to the "Eye of Ra" image that emerged in the center of the character's forehead, and the final stage of the piece was the incomprehensible script in graffiti writing to each side of Wilhelm.
