About The Artwork

In winter the trees are bare, the green of the leaves does not color the countryside: only the ivy that climbs on the trunks of the trees is always green. Instead the ground is covered with dry leaves of a burnt color. Even this somewhat sleepy landscape is a wonderful subject to paint: the paintings of summer subjects are sometimes almost monochromatic, with a thousand shades of green, which in winter only resists thanks to the ivy. As always, in my opinion, oil painting is unsurpassed for accurately describing all the formal and chromatic details.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Stefano Piccioli, Architect and painter, paints images of the Italian territory with the attention of a geographer, also interested in transformations and all those more or less small signs (often negative ones) that daily life imprints on the landscape. Emotions do not always derive from large overall images, but also from small details or partial visions that painting indelibly fixes in memory. Stefano Piccioli uses the very slow means of oil painting to reproduce the emotions that the landscape contains and transmits.
