Faith & Bullets Sculpture

Increasingly, I am inspired by a love of wisdom & the wisdom of love.In this case,I feel the title & composition of components within an intimate & illuminated space, along with the engraved prose on the front & the lid, allow the Art to speak for itself. This Artwork is part of a series of boxed shrine-like works I've made & kept over the years. The Box is made from solid mahogany & the interior is composed of the following. The rear window of the box is made from sandblasted & fused glass with fused copper fibre, surrounded by sandblasted & stained glass & red velvet. A carved bone is fixed upon the centre of the fused glass.The sides of the box are lined with mirror which is partially covered with honeycomb fibre from an F1 racing car. The floor of the box has a circle of 1st world war machine gun bullets within which sits a small plastic shrine. The glass frontage is decorated with sandblasting, silver stain & etched text & a poem is burnt into the mahogany lid.
