Originally from Johannesburg, Andrew has lived in Taiwan, the UK, and South Africa. His work is rooted in the interplay between animals, nature, and the human environment. Each piece created draws inspiration from the world around him and imagines alternative realities that, while recognisable, are simplified dream fields. Drawings and paintings capture the relationships between elements that reflect both harmony and tension. At the same time, sculptures capture moments of whimsy that focus on form and beauty. "I want my work to make people smile, to bring a moments of levity into the world." Working across mediums—pen, ink, acrylic paint, wood, plaster, polyurethane, and bronze— Andrew tries to craft pieces that resonate with the inner child, capturing a moment of child-like wonder and innocence. He aims to inspire a deeper appreciation for the environment and spark a sense of wonder in our everyday world.
