This sculpture is inspired by the work of Brancusi, Max Bill and Arp. I prefer to work in stone for many reasons; the durability, the uniqueness of each naturally made block and the mental focus required when carving. I hope viewers will be inspired to pursue their own creative aspirations

About Karl Geckler Karl Geckler is an architect and sculptor based in Chicago, IL Karl graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia and has worked for the architectural firms SOM, GREC Architects and Taller de Arquitectura, as well as maintaining a private architectural practice. He studied stone carving in Pietrasanta, Italy and tool and die/welding in Chicago. His passion is the art of stone carving and he has taught hundreds of students this craft. He is currently focused on sculpture and furniture designs.
