About The Artwork

Sometimes I feel a great desire to practice my classical Russian painting training. Paying homage to well-known artists and reinterpreting their works is the way I have chosen to do this. This is not a new path, many artists work in this direction in their own way, and it is all the more interesting to see where these dialogs with the classics lead. In this case, I have always been magically attracted by Magritte's (1898 - 1967) "Eye". I combined pure painting with collage, a technique that is particularly close to my heart. Instead of an all-absorbing pupil, I used a record - perfect black. The sky is a photograph and the eyelashes are the bristles of a broom. To bring in my surrealistic accents, I wanted to use 3D elements to expand the space not only backwards but also forwards, towards the viewer. For me, the onion and the eye evoke associations with crying. A glass of milk, on the other hand, has a gentle and calming effect. The exciting thing is that the owner of the picture can place his own (not too heavy) objects on these small shelves, which are just right for the day or for the mood. A kind of interaction.

For my artistic intentions, I try to explore cultural events and contexts, because this is the only way to gain a better understanding of the present and oneself in this modern world. Therefore, together with other important topics, the relationship with my country will forever remain important to me. I often use self-expression bring my artistic ideas to life. Important components in my art are playfulness, ambiguity, irony and hidden humor. The tendency to haptic, sensual perception, the use of found objects and unusual materials stimulates my imagination and characterizes my works.
