Sunset At nightfall, as I prepare for sleep, a yearning for the past arises. A quiet gratitude for shelter, for a roof above me, and for the way I’ve made this place my own. I am inspired by encounters with people, landscapes, colours, contrasts, I see and experience compositions everywhere. Livin...

Contact us.Sanny is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist with a distinct signature. From a young age, she developed a broad artistic practice: from drawings of fashionable figures and fictional landscapes to her own magazines, paintings on paper, objects, and jewelry-making. She could also spend days creating scenes, compositions, and small paradises from wood, cardboard, and plants. Her parents provided a foundation for this—her mother as a source of support, her father as a source of discipline and perseverance.
For Sanny, art is a form of meditation and a means to explore authenticity, emotion, and stillness. Her sources of inspiration include impressions of people, animals, colors, emotions, shapes, contrasts, textures, compositions, travels, and quiet moments where the wind moves the shadows, or twilight falls as birds grow quieter. To her, art is a natural part of life, as inherent as the flow of breath and the sun rising each day.
In addition to acrylic, watercolor, oil pastel, gouache, charcoal, and ink, her choice of materials is closely tied to sustainability and reuse. She works with old photographs, paper, pages from books and magazines, upcycled vintage frames, and raw, natural materials such as gemstones, metal, tribal beads, and old leather. This material exploration reflects her fascination with patina, imperfection, and the beauty of lived-in traces.
Since 2008, Sanny has created mixed-media works in which realistic animals and people appear in surrealistic contexts. Their vulnerability is revealed in posture, gaze, or composition.
A significant project is KINTSUGI BAG (2021), where Dutch army canvas bags are repaired with gold using the Japanese Kintsugi technique. The project emphasizes imperfection, restoration, and cherishing the valuable in the ordinary.
From her mid-twenties, Sanny developed a keen eye for patina and natural materials, which was further sharpened by her work on large-scale interior projects in her thirties. These projects focused on natural materials, layering, contrast, and balance—an experience that remains visible in her autonomous work and life philosophy: simplicity, contrast, sustainability, and resistance to mass production.
After a few months of traveling through Central America in early 2025 and a glass project in Panama, Sanny spent a month in La Rioja, Spain, where she realized her latest exhibition. This was followed by her decision to take the definitive step toward living her long-held dream.
