I explore history as a lens to examine emotional tension that shape belief and power. Rooted in Korean symbols—ritual garments, divided lands, and staged political gestures—my work moves beyond specific events to focus on the psychological and spiritual states that emerge within them. Rather than documenting history, I construct visual scenes where longing, conflict, and hope coexist. It function as emotional myths—spaces where personal memory, collective experience, and symbolic imagination intersect. Across all series, I approach painting as a way to reveal how human vulnerability and desire persist within systems larger than ourselves.
