Inborn and continuing distinctive artist, Oyeleye Feranmi (b.2000) is a native of Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria, and also where he had his childhood days, living and working. Though he didn't have a formal education in fine and applied art, but the inbuilt talent, continuous practicing, researching and a two year internship under the renowned artists, Oluwafemi Afolabi, and a two years of working as a studio assistant at Femo Art studio, all combined together to shape, mode and produced a refined Oyeleye Feranmi artistic prowess. Feranmi whose artistic journey could be traced to his childhood days has now been practicing and exploring as a professional for a handful of years now and also his work has been punctuated by notable exhibitions both national and international platforms: Life In My City Art Festival, Ibadan Regional exhibition, (2023). Through a unique blend of abstract to realism using a certain pattern like that of the shape of a sanglass on my subject, depicting the ever present passage of time on the evolution of nature and human Life in general. Using acrylic on canvass, I tend to create a visual element that will compel my audience into the world of dialogue and introspection and contribute to the conversation. I explore the complexities of decision making, the beauty of nature and the ever present passage of time. My art seeks to draw attention and inspiration from the status quo within my environment, Time, nature, world, and the interesting world of men and women I.e, Their decision, life struggles, their love stories and socio political concept. Feranmi is steadfast in his belief that, art should be a guiding manual in navigating life puzzling and contributing to a deeper understanding of life, acting as a catalyst for introspection and understanding.
