Lovers Drawing

The landscape that inspired me to write this picture, I observed not far from my house, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. I wanted to convey the softness and warmth of the coastal sand, on which the sun's rays still fall. And at the same time, an impending thunderstorm in the sea, which contrasts sharply with the idealistic mood of the coast. In the swaying grass, I tried to convey the feeling of the wind, its fresh breath. In the foreground, I depicted the footprints of a person, perhaps this is the couple that stands in the depths of the picture, they were not afraid of the approach of the storm, and now they breathe in the smell of the sea, and their hair develops in the wind, just like these blades of grass. Even farther away we see lightning as a danger signal, but the sun-drenched sand in the foreground is reassuring and gives hope for the best. Ultimately, everything will pass, the sun will be replaced by a thunderstorm, and the thunderstorm by the sun. Nothing is eternal. Already finished picture, my husband characterized as "the flag of Ukraine", his words struck me, as it turned out unconsciously, until the moment he said it, I was not aware of it. I am Russian, I moved to Spain in the first days of the war with Ukraine, acutely feeling pain because of the useless war among fraternal peoples, a person who loves and respects this country very much. It seems to me a terrible tragedy what is happening, and apparently my subconscious mind drew the flag of Ukraine as a sign of support for this country. The picture is painted by me with professional acrylic, on 100% cotton canvas, on a wooden stretcher. I paint pictures in such a way that they can be hung without being framed. The ends are added to continue the landscape. It looks modern and will complement any interior.
