My favorite seasons are autumn and winter, but spring is too colorful for me to ignore. Each year I make pieces that respond to nature in one way or another. Winter landscapes are especially inspiring to me. While I see less snow each year, I have vivid recollections (and some helpful photos) of recent trips to Vermont and Utah, where I was greeted by glorious, snowy landscapes that were quite different from each other. These works are not directly from observation, but from the memory of my impression of them.

She creates imaginary worlds where characters and settings are rooted in the familiar, but are removed from reality.
