ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The creation of the painting ‘Bridge’ pushed the boundaries in my art. I wanted to create some new forms not only in painting but also in architecture and urbanism. It is exciting to look at the future this way. The painting was made of acrylic paint and pieces of mirrors on canvas. The colors used are blue (over black background), silver, and pearl. There is also a mixture of blue and silver. The contrast between dark blue and shining colors is strong and effective. The row cut mirrors give the painting certain dynamics as we move in front of it. This makes the constant changing of the artwork depending on the surrounding, and the viewers are also a part of the artwork.

Zeljka Paic is a graduate of both the Academy of Fine Arts (2015) and the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering (2011). Since 2017 she has exhibited her paintings internationally, showing her architecture-inspired paintings and sculptures from the series Art Beyond Frames. Her work has been exhibited as far and wide as Paris, Amsterdam, Venice, London, and New York. She was featured in The Guardian’s Future of Art - in Pictures article and picked as one of the top 5 artists by Art Aesthetics Magazine for The Other Art Fair in London in 2017. She received an award from the Association of Innovators of the Republic of Srpska for her contribution to the innovative approach to art, in 2024. Her artworks are collected in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, etc.
