"Depression" Painting

I create small, original paintings that use symbolism and vivid color to translate emotional and historical themes into image. My work blends surreal landscape and conceptual abstraction—pieces that feel both meditative and charged, like visual poems.

I began teaching myself to paint about two years ago, so each work is also part of an ongoing record of my experiments, discoveries, and the development of my own creative process. I’m drawn to subjects that carry meaning beneath the surface: identity, resilience, memory, censorship, and the way inner life shapes what we see. Some pieces are inspired by literature and banned books; others draw from nature and dream imagery. I often use layered brushwork and metallic accents to build depth and movement, so the paintings shift subtly with light and viewing angle.

Each piece is one of a kind and created to invite prolonged looking—something that holds attention, evokes feeling, and stays with you after you leave the room.
