This is currently on exhibit at dk Contemporary Gallery in Mariettea, GA for a show called "man Cave" Professional artists Holly and Heather Blanton are half-identical and half-fraternal twin sisters from Florida with very different abstract styles of painting. They have recently teamed up to create collaborative paintings incorporating Holly’s beautiful large-scale backgrounds with Heather’s whimsical brushstrokes of motion captured in her recent “sports series.” The idea sparked as Heather looked onto one of Holly’s plentiful works, imagining a row of her cyclists painted onto the wondrous background. From that idea, the sisters have created seventeen collaborative pieces to date. Heather is the second to paint during the project and has found that it bestows an extra sense of reverence for Holly’s work, as she paints with the intentions of keeping Holly’s style recognizable as she gracefully casts her competitive figures onto the painting. Heather’s most recent individual paintings display competitive athletes ranging from peddling cyclists to determined runners, as she has developed an obsession for painting the athletes. Heather has been creating art since 2005, when she began her career manipulating images on polaroid photos to display wavy representations of graphic images. Her sister, Holly encouraged her to start anew, bringing artistic life into a piece of blank canvas. Holly chooses large canvases, as smaller ones make her feel confined and less free. She has a Zen approach to painting allowing herself to physically and mentally feel peace and freedom as she creates and radiates those energies into her large-scale background works. As a self-described geek for painting, she is intrigued and mesmerized by colors and texture and says that she gets an electric feeling when she completes a piece. In 1973, these two talented twins were born, eventually becoming creative and beautiful forces in the art world. The sense of unity and love they share as sisters keep them strong and capable to create not only their own impressive art projects, but also accomplished collaborative artists.

Included in Saatchi's 20 ARTISTS TO WATCH IN 2020 Known for her creative works depicting the art of motion while celebrating competition and the human spirit, Heather Blanton is an American painter and photographer living and working in St. Augustine, Florida. Recent commissions include PGAT0ur HQs. Her latest series, “Sports,” depicts a wide range of subjects from golfers in mid-swing to cyclists peddling toward the finish line to hundreds of marathon runners racing to glory. Born in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1973, Blanton studied art at the University of North Florida and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She spent three years living in New York City exploring hand-manipulated and distressed Polaroid SX-70 film images. As analog film teetered on the edge of extinction, Blanton turned to fine art painting as her next medium. Today she has created hundreds of large and small sports paintings influenced by Abstract Expressionism and conflicted by a blend of animation and whimsy. “My works are focused on the energy of the race,” Blanton explains of her “Sports” series. “They are easily distinguishable by compositional elements of color and form. By creating dialog between the viewer and the subject matter, this series is a cohesive collection of flat images with a chaotic, pattern-like style where the lines and negative spaces are almost as important as the subject matter.” A professional artist since 2004, Blanton has successfully shown in nearly 50 exhibitions and her work can be found in public and private collections around the globe from Amsterdam and Atlanta to Manhattan and Miami. She has been featured in numerous publications and media outlets and continues to work as the conduit to capture her client’s passions of skiing, cycling, golfing, horse racing, and everything in between.
