From the What’s HER Net Worth series(a tennis net was used as a stencil). I was reflecting on Wimbledon and its rich history when I chose this color palette. Played on luscious green grass courts, the prestigious tournament adheres to a strict all white dress code. Color trim on clothes should be no wider than a centimeter. I started to think about the function that rules and regulations play in regards to creativity. How ridged rules that we’re supposed to stay boxed in by can ultimately encourage creativity. How some people when forced to play within specific parameters are naturally compelled to rebel. As spectators we have witnessed players creativity, playfulness, and moxie we might not have otherwise seen, all because they were forced to wear the same color. How can we stay within the guidelines of the sameness, respect tradition, AND still set ourselves apart and express our individual personalities? The rebel heart will always find a way.
